Lift One Aspen

Coming soon: hotel and residential development located ski-in/ski-out on the west portal of Aspen Mountain.

Aspen Mountain skiing began at the site of Lift 1 and it is being revitalized with the Gorsuch Haus development as a part of a greater plan to transform the Lift 1 neighborhood to better serve the community and create a world-class ski-racing venue for generations to come. Gorsuch Haus was planned as an intimate 81-room hotel with 4 residences located ski-in/ski-out on the west portal of Aspen Mountain. Hotel amenities were to include a World Cup après deck, a restaurant and bar with an outdoor dining terrace, a rooftop terrace with pool, a library area honoring Aspen’s skiing heritage, a spa and fitness center, a ski concierge and ski lockers, a retail , and flexible meeting space for community events and other social functions.

In addition to the Gorsuch Haus, the broader project included a different developer’s construction of the Lift One Lodge, replacement of Lift 1A and construction of a ski museum. This project, which totaled than 320,000 square feet of commercial space and Lift One Lodge, was approved by Aspen voters in 2019.

Then, in March 2022, OKO Group, an international real estate development firm headed by Vladislav Doronin, purchased the Gorsuch Haus site near the base of Aspen Mountain and the approvals for an 81-room hotel for $76.25 million. The Miami-based OKO Group is one of four stakeholders participating in regular meetings coordinated by city of Aspen staff to keep the complicated corridor project steaming ahead.

We expect to be hearing more about this project in the coming months. Contact me if you would like to stay updated on this development.
